"I was laying in the hospital bed two or three days after surgery. Without wanting to, I let out a little fart. I didn't even feel it coming, but everyone heard it. The nurse told me: "Good! That means that your intestines are working again, let them out!"

It felt like she was saying to me, "You can’t control what your body does.” At first, I felt a little embarrassed, then I felt helpless and angry; because even if I wanted to, at that moment I realized I couldn’t control so many things both inside and outside of me. ”

"MAY THE MOON PROTECT ME"

EVERY NIGHT i SEE HER and she protects me, Every night i caress myself and she protects me.

if my breath is not enough, may the moonlight accompany me through the day and the sun overshadow my fears.

one foot is enough for me to jump into her arms.

standing at the zenith, the body burns and lights up in flames, to tell the story of a rabbit, a salamander and the sea.

fire and sea howl together.

a muffled howl.

an estactic howl.

dance wolf, the moon will alays shine for you.

Sabina León Guzmán, was born on March 14, 1994 in Morelos, Mexico. As a restless, but disciplined girl, she did gymnastics during childhood, danced in a group named Bandula at the age of 10, and was always present on the dance floors of the parties with her father; passionate about Latin and Afro-Antillean rhythms.

From the age of 13, Sabina began taking more dance courses and later attended professional schools in Cuernavaca, Morelos and Mexico City; studying different styles and rhythms, such as contemporary, African, Afro-Latin and Mexican folk dance.

She has always found liberation and pleasure from dancing, but struggling with the demands of the professional world of dance, and in search of flying higher, she decided to explore circus arts. The circus has allowed her to push her body to the limit. Jumping and turning head first is a constant therapy to release fears and apprehensions. Acrobatics feels like she can play, a game for the brave.

Sabina has trained in circus arts in Mexico, France and currently lives and studies in Switzerland. In 2019, she traveled to Senegal to l’École des Sables, to study the origins of movement and learn how to integrate dance into her circus training.

Thanks to dance and acrobatics, she has made peace with her body, found her personal expression, and has learned what it means to love oneself  with all one’s curves, abnormalities, and especially appreciate one’s strength and fragility; one’s unique voice to the world.
